Automatic Work Station for Spray Coating
Aurel Automation has recently supplied two automatic units to an important Italian company involved in the fuel cells manufacturing.
The work station XCEL series makes a functional and protective coating of nano-powders on the surface of the layers of the battery stack by means of a micro-spray technology.
The suitable process for the deposition of the nano-powders with a high thickness uniformity rate consists of a microspray of the liquid suspension. After the deposition, the liquid evaporates quickly dispersing in the chamber a potentially flammable and explosive gas, for this reason the unit has been designed in compliance with the Atex Directive (Atmosphere Explosive).
In order to grant the highest level of uniformity and repeatablity during the process, the system is equipped with an assisted adjustment system of the spray emission so as to correct any deviations of the amount of deposited dust and to avoid excessive losses of material.
