AZO CONTROLS: Liquids meets Controls

| Resource-saving production | Decentralised intelligence

AZO, the expert for automatic handling of raw materials in bulk, powdered, granular and liquid form, is exhibiting at Anuga FoodTec 2018 in Cologne.

In Hall 10.1 at stand B028 C029 we will be demonstrating solutions for automatic handling of large and medium components and the integration of small components and ingredients in the automated process. Intelligent process-IT and a vacuum-process plant for the manufacturing of sauces, mayonnaise and ketchup complete the portfolio of the AZO Group.

Liquids meets Controls

Contemporary production plants for the manufacture of sauces, ketchup, mayonnaise, soups or spreads, for example, have vacuum processing plants that are generally supplied with the necessary raw materials by means of automated dosing of base liquids and manual feeding of powdered substances and small quantities of liquid additives.

Combining the ManDos manual weighing system with a zoatec® BG vacuum processing plant creates a perfect symbiosis. The zoamatic controller integrated in the BG is responsible for the execution of the process, including automated dosing, while the ManDos takes charge of reliable preparation of the small quantities to be added.

Manual weighing is carried out at the ManDos station by the user for each individual batch. The operator is guided through the recipe on a touchscreen PC. Batches of raw materials can optionally be detected by barcode readers, and the prepared manually weighed containers can optionally be labelled, with barcode monitoring at the point of addition to the processing plant. The system as a whole can also be connected to an ERP system, such as SAP, so that order and stock data are available and transparent throughout the organisation. This safeguards the automatic flow of data, avoiding unnecessary and error-prone manual entries and ensuring high data integrity. Continuous traceability is included. The combination of zoatec® BG vacuum processing plant and ManDos manual weighing system is thus the ideal partner for the food industry.

Digital added value via Kastor DataCockpit

The main purpose of the Kastor DataCockpit is to extract insights from the existing data collected by modern production plants. The main objective here is to improve productivity and avoid errors, thereby making it possible to reduce the use of resources in production.

If the data analysis leads to more stable, faster production, this creates the following benefits to the customer:

• Manufacturing costs are kept as low as possible.

• A fixed standard of quality is ensured throughout.

• It allows active and proactive controlling of production.

• Consumption of energy and raw materials can be reduced.

In the light of increasing costs for energy and raw materials, the efficient use of resources simultaneously provides a competitive advantage for your company. And ultimately, the
