More safety for operators with the help of the portable pyrometers made by DIAS

DIAS Infrared expands its large range of pyrometers and infrared cameras for the non-contact temperature measurement with more highlights for the industrial process measurement technology. The three innovative products for flexible, non-stationary bound temperature measurement between 200 °C and 2500 °C expand the product range.

The initial point for the new development was the fact that the available pyrometers at the market use a laser or LED aiming light that is not visible for high temperatures, for example in the metallurgy like casting foundries. So optical through-lens sightings are often used that have to be placed right in front of the eye. This often poses risks to the operator, specifically in harsh industrial environments. At this point, the new flexible and fast pyrometers establish more safety and measurement comfort.

The new portable high-temperature pyrometers use an integrated video module technology. This technique is already very well developed for the stationary pyrometers. In combination with the 2.5” TFT display the color video module enables a very comfortable alignment of the pyrometer even at high measurement temperatures. The robust portable pyrometers that are specifically suitable for processes for the winning and working of metals minimize measurement errors at a low, only imprecisely known or varying emissivity.

The devices PYROSPOT DG 80NV portable measure temperatures from 200 °C to 2000 °C at short wavelengths in the spectral range from 1.5 µm to 1.8 µm. The pyrometers PYROSPOT DS 80NV portable work at 0.8 µm to 1.1 µm wavelength and provide temperature measurement from 550 °C to 2500 °C.

In particularly harsh ambient conditions, where the optics can be contaminated or the measurement field of the pyrometer is not filled completely, the ratio pyrometer PYROSPOT DSR 80NV portable is available. It measures temperatures between 600 °C and 1800 °C at a wavelength from 0.8 µm to 1.1 µm.

The devices are very fast with response times starting from 10 ms (t95). All pyrometers have a vario optics with a distance ratio up to 200 : 1. Important pyrometer parameters can be set by using the four push buttons that are right below the large TFT display.

The new devices of the DIAS PYROSPOT series 80 portable are available from the second quarter of 2016. For further information, please contact us.
