Correct installation extends the service life

Avoid damage caused by vibrations.

Fans for use in air, refrigeration and air conditioning or other industrial applications are usually tested in their paces and have to prove themselves at the manufacturer in long endurance tests and under harsh conditions. However, if they are installed incorrectly, vibrations can lead to damage and failure.

Correct installation situation is decisive

The installation of a fan in a system always creates a new vibrating arrangement with a specific structure SRF. Further influences on the vibration strength in the operation are transport and handling, even dirt on the impeller during operation can lead to an imbalance or turbulences due to unfavourable suction conditions arise.

Determining the speed range in order to avoid damage caused by vibrations, it is therefore always recommended to carry out a vibration measurement or resonance search in the entire speed control range after installing the fan in the application. Using vibrating elements

To decouple the fan from vibrations of the environment, vibrating elements (Fig. 2), i.e. appropriately laid out springs or rubber elements help. However, there are a lot of things to keep in mind when choosing. In addition to the own frequency of the Ventilatoraufbaus itself, a further spring mass system with its own resonance frequency is created by the mounting of vibrating elements. The use of spring or rubber elements must be observed at the most important speeds. In the technical documentation, you will find already properly dimensioned vibrating elements for each fan and the corresponding speed. If others are to be used, the above-mentioned laws must be observed.

Vibration measurement protects against damage
