MEM-Bus PROFINET Encoder: High Accuracy and Compact Size
Elap absolute encoders series MEM-Bus PROFINET comply with Encoder Profile Specifications V4.1 version 3.162 related to Profidrives. They fulfil the requirements of the Application Classes 3 and 4, that is they provide all functions for scaling factor, preset, rotational direction, positioning and speed values, diagnostic. MEM-Bus encoders support the RT Real Time and IRT Isochronous Real Time transmission mode, thus ensuring fast, accurate and safe data transfer, an effective asset in motion control high-speed applications.
Besides supporting standard telegrams 81, 82, 83, 84, Elap encoders can be run through the user telegram 860, featuring Profibus telegram - a peculiarity which simplifies the encoder handling, as well as the possible migration from Profinet devices.
Parameters are entered via TCP/IP. Network topology can be configured according to the system requirements. The encoders real time diagnostic function allows the device state constant monitoring.
As for all PROFINET systems, a single cable is used for PROFINET and TCP/IP signal: reduced cabling results in easier engineering and installing operations.
MEM-Bus encoders are supplied in multiturn version with 29 bit resolution (8192 steps/revolution x 65536 revolutions).
Different mechanical versions are available to satisfy all application requirements: square flanged, round flanged, and with hollow shaft to couple directly to a motor shaft. The electrical connection is by 3 M12 connectors.
The stout aluminium case ensures a high protection degree, allowing to apply MEM-Bus encoders in severe industrial environments.
The innovative electronic construction technology - involving no mechanical gear – allows to reach high acceleration and speed values and grants the transducer long life.
The encoders MEM-Bus will be shown at SPS IPC DRIVES Exhibition in Parma next May.
