A series of incremental and absolute explosion-proof encoders, which meet the requirements of European standards for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, without sacrificing the high performance necessary to guarantee extreme precision control of position and speed. The Eltra ATEX encoders are the EX 80, EAX 80 and EAMX 80. These are devices designed give high performance and reliability in all those sectors which deal with flammable materials and hazardous substances, which make for potentially explosive environments, such as gas and oil refineries, marine drilling platforms and chemical colouring and paint plants. The EX 80 incremental encoder, the EAX 80 absolute single-turn encoder and the EAMX 80 absolute multi-turn encoder are all explosion-proof, have a 80 mm diameter and guarantee robustness, a high IP65 protection rating and high resolution (up to 16,384 rpm x 8,192 ppr / 27 bits for the EAMX 80).
