Flow measurements with Iris® Diaphragm Control Valves in the test facility for hydraulic engineering and water management in Obernach (GER)

Precise flow control with Egger Iris® Valves

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) – Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying – operates a test center for hydraulic engineering and water management in Obernach near lake Walchensee in the German Alps. Here, geographic models of rivers and streams are simulated in order to optimize the impact of dams and water courses on the flow behavior.

At this hydraulic test center students can analyse and test the flow behavior during their temporary stay. The three flow channels, into which various hydraulic models can be fitted, are loaded evenly with water. For a precise control of the incoming flow, three Egger Iris® Diaphragm Control Valves with electric actuator type Auma are in operation.
