Multispindle tightening unit with autofed pick-up station

Latest solution designed to assemble, with high productivity and in a semi-automatic way, plastic handles on gas cylinders with 4 M8 nuts with incorporated washer.

The solution, entirely designed and manufactured by Fiam and to be integrated into customer’s production line, consists of:

• Multispindle tightening unit with 4 nutrunner motors equipped with special sockets to collect nuts from the pick-up station. The unit is provided with two lateral handles equipped with start lever

• Two feeding units for nuts to automatically feed the 4 nuts on the pick-up station which is then translated automatically on the pallet line for to ease picking with the multispindle tightening unit

• Control panel to manage the working cycle

The advantages of such solution are:

High productivity: the multispindle tightening unit and the automatic feeding system provide manufacturing operations with a cycle time of 10 seconds/piece

Reliability of assembly: all 4 tightenings occur simultaneously and with precision (at the same torque and depth)

Ergonomic operations for operator: no effort to support the multispindle tightening unit thanks to suspension device which balances the weight; arms can rest on the two side handles and both a perfect handling and a good visual field are granted. The operator is also relieved, as there is no need to take care of picking nuts.
