The continuously increasing demand of higher data rates requires high performance transmission systems able to handle Gigabit data rates. Our capacitive slip ring ROTOCAP facilitates uni- and bidirectional high-speed data transmission between rotating and stationary parts with up to Gigabit Ethernet rates. The data transmission is based on a non-contacting capacitive transfer technology and allows high-speed data transmission at extremely low bit error rates better than 10-12.

ROTOCAP is characterized by its very compact design and an extremely robustness, and ensures flawless high-speed data transmission even in environments with strong electromagnetic interference. The design of this capacitive slip ring is modular, thus allowing a simultaneous and bidirectional use of multiple channels. All standard DC-free protocols such as Fast Ethernet, Video or Fiber channel can be transmitted. Uninterrupted plant availability is further ensured by the system's maintenance-free technology.

Other advantages of the ROTOCAP slip ring system are the compatibility with all standard transmission protocols, the possibility of integration into other slip ring systems and the combination with GAT media rotary unions. Even diameters up to 500 mm are available. Other applications of the capacitive slip ring are medical technology, automation industry as well as radar and surveillance systems.
