HEGEWALD & PESCHKE EQUIPS INDIAN TEST LABORATORY FROM TÜV RHEINLAND

Six furniture test benches for mattress testing, component tests and tests on seating and upholstered furniture

TÜV Rheinland has expanded its Indian testing laboratory in Gurgaon/Haryana to include furniture and component testing technology from Hegewald & Peschke. The location in Gurgaon/Haryana was opened in 2012 as a softlines laboratory for testing textiles, especially for the clothing industry. The testing laboratory offers its customers auditing and system certification services.

The extensive delivery included several furniture test benches as well as test benches for component testing, including a test bench for beds with two axles and drop testers, a test bench for seat and backrest tests on seating furniture, a test facility for the durability of mattresses and spring cores according to EN 1957, a test facility for hardness testing of mattresses and spring cores according to EN 1957, a double test bench for seat and backrest tests on seating furniture according to EN 1728, a double test bench for side-to-side and armrest tests.

The following tests according to the current furniture and component testing standards are planned:

- Bed test (pressure test according to EN 1728, EN 1335),

- Mattress testing (continuous loading by rolling, hardness measurement and specification of mattresses in hardness classes),

- Chair testing (fatigue tests seat-back, armrest testing, side-to-side testing),

- Drawer testing according to EN 14749 as well as threshold tests and roller tests,

- Table exam.
