"Peter Huber Prize" awarded at the ACHEMA 2018

* Valerius Füner Foundation honors students in the field of refrigeration technology * Joseph Michel and Florian Theobald are awarded as best students of the year * Award promotes energy efficiency in refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental

On June 13, 2018, the "Peter Huber Prize" of the Valerius Füner Foundation was awarded at the Achema. As the best graduates from the years 2016 and 2017, the winners this year are Joseph Michel and Florian Theobald. Michel received the award for his Master's thesis on the optimization and simulation of combined heat and power plants. Theobald was honored for his work developing new models to more accurately calculate the heat transfer. In future, the development of temperature control units could benefit from this basic research.

In 2015 partnership with the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences , Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau AG introduced the "Peter Huber Prize" to recognise and award the achievments of students studying mechanical engineering with a focus on energy efficiency in refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental technology. The award comes together with a €1,000 donation.
