Planetary Gears Specification

There are many types of planetary wheels, the simplest of which are made up of a sun gear, a gear ring, a planet carrier and several planetary wheels, called a planetary platoon. The sun gear, the gear ring and the planet carrier have a common fixed axis, the planetary gear is supported on the planetary gear shaft which is fixed on the planet carrier, and simultaneously engages with the sun gear and the gear ring. When the planetary gear mechanism is running, empty sleeve on the planet carrier of several planetary wheels, on the one hand can revolve around their axis, on the other hand, with the planet carrier around the sun gear, like the heavenly Planetary movement, with both rotation and revolution of two motion states, planetary gear also named.

In the planetary platoon, the sun gear, gear ring and planet carrier with fixed axes are called the three basic elements of the planetary platoon.

Planetary gear bodies can be categorized in different ways:

(1) According to the meshing mode of gears, the planetary gear mechanism can be divided into two kinds: internal meshing type and external meshing type. The internal meshing type planetary gear Mechanism has compact structure and high transmission efficiency, so it is widely used in automatic transmission.

(2) According to the number of planetary gears, the planetary gear mechanism can be divided into single row and two kinds of multiple rows. The multiple-row planetary gear mechanism is composed of several single row planetary gear mechanisms. A multiple-row planetary gear mechanism consisting of two or three single row planetary gear mechanisms is usually used in auto transmissions.

(3) According to the number of planetary gear sets between the sun gear and the gear ring, the planetary gear structure can be divided into single planetary gear type and double planetary gear type. The gear ring can be reversed when the two planetary gears are in the same condition as the single planetary gear mechanism.
