roboCELL: Modular standard cell for individual applications

Flexible and always the eye on the costs

With roboCELL, the program of IEF-Werner GmbH contains a standardised cell, which makes automatized production processes realizable easily and quickly. As this solution is built up with standardised components, it can be adjusted to the individual task of the clients in a customized way. This is how the costs always stay transparent and the costumer profits from a quick delivery.

Furtwangen, 29.07.2015 – The standard cell is with its 1,4 square meters of installation surface very com-pact and can be integrated into various production surroundings. Users are able to move the unit easily with a fork lift truck or a crane. The system is constructed on a self-supporting steel frame, within which a Cartesian XYZ – positioning system with a workspace of 600 x 600 x 400 millimeters is arranged. A control cabinet and a baseplate are integrated. This plate functions as the basis for individual processing, convey-ing, jointing, or assembly applications. It can be incorporated in variable heights. IEF fastened all drive motors of the positioning system stationary. Therefore, no motors, gear units or cables move during the operation, this reduces the clock cycle and increases the payload of the handling. Work pieces of the maximal weight of four kilograms and a repetitive accuracy of +/- 0,05 millimeters can be handled. The standardised cell is equipped with a safety glass guard door and electric locking.

Users are able to extend roboCELL with optional standardised solutions depending on the definition of task. IEF provides a variety of components, like for example the transporting system posyART, which transports components and assemblies on work piece carriers over transfer distances and positions those precisely accurate for the next step of procedure. The flexible conveyor belts MINITRANS and also the pal-letising system smallSTACK can be utilized. The palletising system provides unfinished parts, semi-finished products or work pieces in a predefined location of the cell or gathers processed products.

IEF-Werner equipped the roboCELL in series with the NC-control unit PA-CONTROL IPO, so that the user himself is able to program simple and complex automation solutions effortlessly, after only a short period of time. Start-up operations and programming take place over an Ethernet interface with the software package WINPAC, which was developed by IEF especially for this task.
