Solution of Wire Crimp Pull Testing: ACT-1000N is now available

Automatic Crimp Tester ACT-1000N is now available from IMADA, Japanese force measurement leading company.

The tester measures breaking force and tensile durable strength of a wire crimp.

It is partly in accordance with UL 486A-486B(2013) “ Standard for Safety for Wire Connectors, 9.3.4 Pullout test”. The capacity is up to 1000N. The available sample diameter is φ1~8mm. Using the optional attachments, round terminal crimp pull test is also possible.

The user pressing just the one button, the tester automatically starts the test and saves the result to the internal memory (up to 1500 data) or PC installed the included software (up to 60000 data). After testing, the wire gripping jig is automatically back to the home position. The test result, namely the peak force and Pass(OK)/Fail(NG), is displayed on the monitor.

2 test mode “BREAK” and “KEEP” are selectable. “BREAK” mode is loading force until the crimp breaking. “KEEP” mode is keeping specified force in the setting time.

Test conditions (test name, test mode, speed, force etc.) are able to be registered up to 26 patterns. The suitable test condition is able to set immediately when the sample is changed to other wire crimp.

The included software provides data management for captured values. It automatically calculates statistics of whole captured data or each sample. The calculate items are number of whole selected data, number of passed and failed times, maximum force, minimum force, average force and standard deviation.

Besides, the test condition editing is also possible on PC. The enable edit items are test name, mode, speed, standard force and time.
