JINPAT Deep-water Slip Ring

Deep-sea technology involves prospecting, developing, and processing procedures of deep-sea resources.

In 2017, JINPAT has established a specialized R&D Team to develop slip rings for deep-water use. As it features high pressure, darkness, low temperature, oxygen lack, corrosive and disruptive sea water in the deep-sea environment, JINPAT embarks on its research from two sides: material and structure. Wear and corrosion resistant materials are chosen for sealing parts. Proper structure is made according to friction force and material science. 316 stainless steel housing material and special mirror processing technology, as well as appropriative deep-water cables, are employed for the study.

Validation on sealing design with pressure test has given a positive result that the 200m deep-water slip ring operates well under a pressure of 3MPa. At present, it also experiences 10-day shallow water dynamic test, showing a reliable performance with an insulation resistance of over 90G between rings.
