Award for JULABO Engineer: Chris Fattroth receives the DKV Academic Award

Chris Fattroth has been awarded the DKV Academic Award for his bachelor thesis on “Investigation of the use limits of an ultra-low refrigerated circulator thermostat with single-stage cooling technology”.

Chris Fattroth studied refrigeration system technology at the European Academy of Refrigeration and Airconditioning (ESaK), graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science. As part of a cooperative degree programme, he was employed at JULABO during his studies and was thus able to accumulate a large amount of practical knowledge.

His topic was not simple and required a break with conventional wisdom. The challenge was to generate low temperatures in a special circuit system without cascade technique.

Chris Fattroth will continue to work for JULABO now that he’s finished studying and assist with the implementation of his findings in the series products from JULABO. As a product manager, he will take care of the PRESTO series of equipment and contribute to their further development.

JULABO is proud and happy at the same time that Chris Fatt Roth has been awarded this prize. It shows the significance of innovation for JULABO in the area of cold technology which can only be achieved with good engineers.

The Deutscher Kälte- und Klimatechnischer Verein

The Deutscher Kälte- und Klimatechnischer Verein e.V. is the only German association for both technical and scientific study of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology. It was founded in Berlin in 1909.

The DKV is a sponsoring member of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) in Paris and represents the Federal Republic of Germany in the IIR.

It is also an associate member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in Atlanta, as well as a member of the Technisch-Wissenschaftlicher Vereine (DVT) association.
