Efficient storage and picking solution for the Danish online retailer Med24

The Danish company Med24 specializes in the online sale of health, care, and cosmetic products and offers customers in the Scandinavian region the widest range of such items on the market.

Growth rates of more than 400 percent over the last three years and a product range that has grown to include more than 10,000 different items necessitated the modernization of the 1,200 m² warehouse, in which 25 people are employed.

An average of 1,500 orders consisting of 4,500 items are now processed daily at Med24, but the existing storage system was unable to keep up with the significant growth in terms of the amount of products ordered and the storage space required. Med24 therefore placed its trust in an automated storage and retrieval system from Kardex Remstar to allow it to work quickly and cost-efficiently and guarantee maximum customer satisfaction.

The company opted for the installation of nine Megamat RS 350 units. Due to the highly dense storage of goods within the units, the larger product range can now be stored on a footprint measuring just a fifth of the size of the area previously required.
