Latest COM Express: Massive Ethernet Throughput into the Embedded Market with Dual 10 Gigabit Intel® Ethernet Ports

Kontron, a leading global provider of embedded computing technology (ECT), adds more power to its Computer on Module family with the introduction of the latest Intel® Xeon® processor D-1500 product family on COM ExpressTM. The COMe-bBD6 has the basic form factor and offers up to 32 GB DDR4 SODIMM with ECC memory and members of the Intel® Xeon® processor D-1500 family with up to eight cores.

This COM Express module was designed for high processing power in a small form factor. Software support includes Linux, Windows and VMware with security based on TPM 2.0, AMI UEFI BIOS, and optional Intel® vProTM technology.

The Kontron COMe-bBD6 module meets the needs of the communications and industrial automation markets, specifically with applications such as edge analytics, gateways powerful motion control or headless inspection, and data packet analysis systems.

Vice President of Kontron R&D Product Management, Reiner Grübmeyer explains that, “This is the most powerful and yet smallest module in its class on the market today. Regardless of whether you need to build a CPU-intensive analytics solution or you need to crush massive amounts of network traffic, this module is the right choice.”

Samples are available now with full production planned for Q1 2016.
