LABOM, manufacturer of measuring devices based in Hude, combines at one process connection two different methods of measuring pressure – an electronic transmitter for highly accurate measurement and a mechanical on-site indicator.
The Industrial Safety Ordinance (formerly Pressure Vessel Ordinance) requires that containers under pressure must have constant surveillance – this includes the possibility to indicate the pressure at all times. In the event of a malfunction such as a power cut, electronic transmitters will fail. For this reason in addition to an electronic transmitter the “Kombibar” devices by LABOM are equipped with a mechanical on-site indicator, which ensures permanent indication - quick and easy – and requires only one process connection. The pressure transmitter delivers highly precise data that can be recorded and analysed in the plant control system.
A wide range of combinations is available for process connection and measuring device: In principle it is possible to realise almost any variation. If required, further functions can be added – such as mechanical pressure gauges with switch function that provide, for example, a safety cutout when a predefined maximum pressure level is exceeded. For the food industry a diaphragm seal with an aseptic screw fitting can be chosen, for painting systems an inline diaphragm seal with silicone-free filling fluid is a proven solution, and for compressor stations in the oil and gas industry an universal diaphragm seal is used that is suited to high pressures. For every measurement task a suitable combination can be found.
