In addition to a broad portfolio of luminaires for almost all purposes, R. STAHL can draw on profound expertise regarding lighting issues as well as on explosion protection know-how. The manufacturer is therefore able to provide comprehensive advice on application-specific light planning and lighting systems calculations. Users can greatly benefit from this qualified support, e.g. to learn the best ways to tap the huge savings potential of state-of-the-art LED technology. In hazardous areas, light installations, replacements and maintenance are especially challenging, since only luminaires that are certified for use in these environments or have been especially protected for these applications must be installed. Retrofit solutions are usually unsuitable, because conventional explosion-proof linear luminaires featuring "increased safety" (Ex e) or "non-sparking" (Ex nA) type of protection may not be operated with LED retrofit luminaires. Moreover, energy-efficient upgrades must meet the criteria laid down i...

To ensure the required illumination, a qualified lighting calculation must include not only the illuminance (lx), but also further characteristics such as the luminous flux specified in lumen (lm), the luminaire efficiency (lm/W), the luminous flux per solid angle unit (cd), the beam angle and glare factor (UGR) as well as the colour rendering. R. STAHL provides planners...

Peaking at 24,000 cd, R. STAHL's 6148 series of LED luminaires achieve a much higher luminous intensity than most portable lamps on the market. Microprocessor-controlled electronics ensure a constant light output irrespective of the battery charge condition, which can be easily checked at an indicator on the device. These very resilient floodlights are not only suitable for everyday industrial applications, but have been specifically designed for police, fire fighter, rescue or disaster relief operations, including exposure to extreme conditions and hazardous areas (zones 1, 21, 2 and 22). In addition to ATEX and IEC Ex certifications, these lights also comply with the German fire department standard DIN 14642. They tolerate ambient temperatures between -20 °C and +50 °C, are shock-proof and vibration-resistant, and provide IP66 ingress protection – even placing them in deep puddles is therefore no problem at all. The ergonomic design and low weight of only 1.45 kg facilitate comfortable one-hand operation...

The luminaires feature continuous lighting, standard-compliant emergency lighting and flash modes, and can be continuously dimmed. Application-specific functions can be optionally programmed as well. The battery power suffices for up to 8 hours of operation; the batteries take 11 hours for a complete recharge. 12-48 V and 100-240 V supply voltages are supported. The exte...
