The Push-Pull Pipeliner model from Magnatech

Pipeline Welding System Designed For Flux Core Arc Welding Process

The Push-Pull Pipeliner model from Magnatech utilises a push-pull feeder for positive electrode delivery while allowing use of standard 15 kg wire spools. Most 'Bug-and-Band' systems on the market today use proprietary spool sizes (under 5 kg) or standard 5 kg spool sizes, substantially increasing filler wire costs. The use of welding industry standard 15 kg spools both lowers per kilogram consumable cost, and enhances availability. The weld Head is adaptable to pipes for 6 - 60 in. Using Magnatech's patented Fix-Track, it has been used for linear applications such as seam welding of oil storage tanks.

Magnatech's Pipeliner II is the first GMAW/FCAW pipeline system that has been field proven to meet the higher quality standard being mandated by many customers today. Unlike the many systems on the market using GMAW, the Pipeliner II can meet both API 1104, as well as ASME and DNV standards. It has been used by contractors in Europe, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Thailand, Nigeria, USA, and the UAE for critical gas, oil and water pipeline work with higher strength steels such as X-70, X-8O and above. The system has been used on numerous Saudi Aramco projects. On one Saudi project involving welding 64km of 48" and 56" pipe, with a wall thickness of 23mm, cumulative weld repair rate on a linear basis was 0.011%. The Pipeliner has been used for welding sour gas pipelines internally clad with high nickel alloys.

The Pipeliner allows the contractor to use the standard pipe mill 30° 'V' bevel, eliminating the need for expensive field remachining of each pipe.
