AT 2400 METERS OF ALTITUDE WITH MB CRUSHER BUCKET

It won’t be a mountain to stop MB Crusher Bucket. Neither a chairlift

Because where there is the need to crush, to reduce the material and recover it, where large machines cannot reach; it is there that MB crusher bucket, first of its kind to appear in the market, is present.

We are at roughly 2400 meters above sea level, above Gressoney, Valle d’Aosta, just below the dam, where a 48’’ pipeline will began to bring water to the lower down hydroelectric plant. It is here that MB crusher bucket model BF80.3 is working, mounted on an excavator CAT319, to crush the material originated by explosion of a very hard rock (Serpentine Granite). The reduced material will be used to fill the pipeline.

The job has been taken on by a consortium of local companies. Pipeline implementation and its excavation coverage, has been allocated to Cogeis SpA of Quincinetto in the Turin province.

Cogeis never had any doubts: the only solution was MB crusher bucket. Firstly because the site is located on top of the mountain, this means that any unit can get there only by aerial cableway. Also because space is limited, hence a versatile and compact equipment is a must. Last but not least, the excavator had to be taken anyway (disassembled into three parts due to weight restriction of the cable car and then reassembled at the site) so considering that the machine was already there, it was enough to just apply the right attachment as the MB crusher bucket

MB Crusher Bucket does easily this kind of jobs, while working as a bucket it collects, raises, carries and discharges bulk material, but it also reduces it to the size needed just by adding or removing some shims; an operation that takes less than five minutes to obtain the desired output.

Very importantly, the material can be reused directly on site, in this case to cover the pipes which will bring the water to the valley. This simple operation saves time, energy and resources.

As alternative in Gressoney, they would have had to carry downstream the blasted material, crush it and bring it back, but if we take into consideration that the cable car available has a maximum range of 6/7 ton it is quite simple to understand the number of trips necessary and what cost would have been involved, if it were not for MB crusher bucket.

There could not have been a better place than a mountain top to prove the most effective solution for excavation filling and storage of those materials that are otherwise difficult to recycle on site.
