Korean KBS television crew at OPTIMA

"Smart packaging" was the main topic for the two journalists from Korea who visited Optima Consumer on April 26, 2016.

The reason for their trip to Germany was a big report by the Korean television station KBS on the topic of Industry 4.0. Dong-hyun Lee (Program Director) and Tae-il Jung (cameraman) were primarily interested in the Moduline, which was developed in a collaborative effort between Optima, Siemens and Festo. It provides the option of implementing customized packaging within the process of mass production to satisfy the various desires of end customers.

The two reporters had set a tight schedule. After a brief introduction into Optima Consumer's fields of activity, they switched quickly to an interview with Martin Sauter (Managing Director OPTIMA consumer GmbH), who explained the options and advantages of "mass customization". Afterwards, the journalists got the chance to film the machine in action. They had explained to them how individual bottles of perfume can be controlled and individually designed and they presented this in their television report. In this part of the film, you can see a perfume bottle with the label "KBS". Finally, the reporters got a brief glimpse of the plant floor. They were impressed by the speed at which packaging systems can be developed and manufactured today.

Right after their appointment at Optima Consumer, the two journalists went on to the Hannover Messe, where they filmed further topics for their report. Optima was the only German company they visited for this program. The documentary was broadcast on Korean television on May 20.
