Opto recently presented it's PROFIL Imaging Module and measuring software working together with a Stäubli robot to measure pharmaceutical samples at the Stäubli trade fair in France.

Opto's new all-in-one PROFIL Imaging Module combines a telecentric optic and light in a highly compact design. Together, this combination enables the module to measure complex shapes, micro threads, and holes with zero optical distortion. Due to its small form factor the module has the benefit of easy system integration possibilities.

Together, this combination enables the module to measure complex shapes, micro threads, and holes with zero optical distortion, but with the benefit of easy system integration possibilities due to its small form factor.   The demonstration setup at the Stäubli trade fair showed in particular how easily and seamlessly the PROFIL Imaging Module can be integrated into a wide variety of product measurement processes. A Stäubli robot arm automatically picked and presented a vial sample into the imaging zone of the PROFIL Module, the vial was rapidly imaged and measured by the module and the go/no go result output directly to the process.
