Humatics Adds Industry Veteran Amy Villeneuve to its Board

Former Kiva and Amazon executive to help drive growth for microlocation company.

Technology industry leader Amy Villeneuve, a veteran of Amazon Robotics (formerly Kiva Systems), has joined the board of directors for Humatics, the company said in a statement today.

As President and COO of Kiva Systems, and as a vice president of Amazon, Villeneuve helped spearhead the growth of a robotics startup into a profitable venture, ultimately leading to Kiva’s acquisition by Amazon for $775 million in 2012. She then led Kiva’s successful integration into Amazon, driving the automation of fulfillment centers worldwide, and positioned the rebranding of Kiva into Amazon Robotics, Humatics said.

“Amy is an accomplished leader in robotics, with exceptional experience scaling successful businesses in the e-commerce and logistics sectors,” said David Mindell, CEO and founder at Humatics, a 2019 RBR50 honoree. “We are thrilled to have her join our board; her background and insight will be invaluable as we continue to scale to meet the growing demand of Humatics’ revolutionary microlocation technology in global e-commerce, transportation, and logistics settings.”

Prior to joining Kiva, Villeneuve was executive vice president at Cross Country Automotive Services (now Agero), a strategy consultant at The Parthenon Group (now Parthenon-EY), and an operations leader running component division factories in the automotive industry. She is also a board member of 6 River Systems, Ori Systems, and 4moms; as well as an advisor to REsurity and Catalant. Villeneuve holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University.
