Aqueous Cleaning System Performs Variety of Wash, Rinse, Dry Processes

MecWash Systems offers the Maxi, a fully automatic, customizable, self-contained aqueous cleaning system that meets the aerospace, automotive and hydraulic industry cleanliness standards

Suitable for cleaning large individual components or smaller components with high volumes, the system includes a 24" × 24" × 32" cleaning chamber whose length can be extended to 40", thus providing 23,040 cu. in. of cleaning volume per cleaning cycle.

The single-chamber rotational cleaning system features an ultrasonic wash and rinse, immersion wash and rinse, spray wash and rinse, hot air dry, and vacuum dry for complex components. The company’s aqueous technology cleans without solvents or emissions and is effective for large and small components, components with complex geometries or those that require special fixturing, as well as standard size baskets that can hold high volumes of components per cleaning cycle.

The wash chamber can be configured with dozens of high-volume jet nozzles in order to thoroughly penetrate and saturate the workload at a rate as high as 185 gpm. Full rotation of the workload at rates of 2-10 rpm exposes all surfaces to the wash and rinse solutions to ensure effective cleaning, draining and drying. Alternately, delicate components can be cleaned using a oscillation program setting, which gently tips the components from side to side.

For complex components with high cleanliness requirements, the ultrasonic wash process is followed by a flood and spray wash, an ultrasonic rinse, a flood and spray rinse, and a high-velocity hot air dry cycle. If necessary, a vacuum dry cycle can follow. Vacuum drying is effective for pulling water out of blind holes and long machined passages where water may otherwise be retained due to capillary effect. Total cycle times range between 3 and 20 minutes, depending on components.
