3 New Possibilities for Festo’s SupraMotion Technology

Festo used this year’s Hannover Messe to introduce three new versions of its motion-in-suspension technology, first presented at November’s SPS

The goal is better materials transport and handling applications. SupraJuntion involves an electromagnet moving a plate carrying glass containers over a pool of water without touching it. Such contactless transfer ensures container integrity, making it suitable for food and pharmaceutical products. With SupraGripper, 3-fingered grippers handle objects while hovering above plates, ideal for gaseous and liquid environments. The external SupraTube stepper motor and internal magnet enable non-contact intervention within a sealed tube containing a fluid. This permits working safely with hazardous substances.
