Industry 4.0 Flies Under the Radar in America
In contrast to Europe, the term Industry 4.0 is almost a foreign language in the US
American firms are more focused on technology than on systems, and react to market threats with new products rather than streamlining production. There is also no government push to implement 4.0, and no clear idea of what it means in the minds of many industry leaders. On the other hand, Boeing and other firms are working on specific issues that many in Europe consider part of Industry 4.0. This is particularly true in the areas of data monitoring and predictive maintenance.
