Four-Axis VTC for High-Volume Wheel Production and Similar Parts

This compact, high-precision, heavy-duty machine is designed to operate as a stand-alone machining cell or to be integrated with other machines to form a complete, flexible manufacturing system.

The You Ji YV-600E2T VTC is designed for large-lot size machining of big aluminum wheels or similar parts. This compact, high-precision, heavy-duty machine is designed to operate as a stand-alone machining cell or to be integrated with other machines to form a complete, flexible manufacturing system. Maximum swing is 33.4", and the maximum turning diameter is 29.5".

The rigid vertical column and base are Meehanite castings, heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration dampening. The X and Z axes employ roller-type linear guideways. By using specially designed sliding covers inside the machine, chip problems are virtually eliminated. All ways are completely enclosed while a forced lubrication system assures high-precision production. The high-speed way systems enable rapid traverse rates of 787 ipm. The precision “Class 3” ballscrews are driven directly by the servomotors, eliminating belts or gears for more exact machining.

The spindle construction is of a heavy-duty design incorporating double roller bearings as well as 45-degree angular contact thrust bearings. The spindle is also protected from coolant contamination. The NN-type spindle bearings are used to endure high centrifugal loads as well as high spindle loads. The 100-hp high-torque spindle motor drives the spindle via belts, providing plenty of power for heavy-duty machining and the high speeds necessary for fine finishing.

Twin six-position hydraulic vertical hex turrets are mounted on the rams with tough, bolt-on tooling. Turret index time is 0.8 seconds and shortest route tool selection. Chip control is excellent as chips and coolant wash directly into the standard caterpillar-type right side discharge chip conveyor. The machine’s interior is sloped toward its front, directing the chips and coolant to the conveyor running across the front of the machine. A chip wash system aids in chip removal.
