MAZAK ADDS 3D PRINTING STRING TO ITS MACHINE TOOLING BOW

INTEGREX i-400AM: Part of the Evolution in Industrial 3D Printing

Mazak, a world leader in machine tool manufacturing, has embarked on a new path with the arrival of its new INTEGREX i-400AM machine. The hybrid-multitasking machine is Mazak’s first foray into the world of 3D printing; it essentially combines the accuracy and finish of machining with metal 3D printing. Mazak has already built up a great deal of expertise manufacturing multi-tasking machines, notably with its INTEGREX series. The INTEGREX i-400AM was designed in partnership with Hybrid Manufacturing Technologies, whose Ambit range of tool-changeable cladding heads were incorporated right at the heart of the new machine. The INTEGREX i-400AM is representative of the continuing evolution in industrial 3D printing, lines between traditional manufacturing and new technologies are blurring further as engineers and researchers push the limit in manufacturing design.
