Richardson RFPD Introduces New 30–88 MHz Tunable Bandpass Filter from NewEdge Signal Solutions

Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced today the availability and full design support capabilities for a new 30–88 MHz tunable bandpass filter and associated evaluation board from NewEdge Signal Solutions, Inc.

The SAX248 is designed for tactical communications applications and operates from a single 3.3 V supply. It is capable of handling 2 W of power, while featuring a low power consumption (DC power < 80 mW) that allows for a small footprint.

An associated evaluation board includes the filter and the interface required to allow control from any PC.

Additional key features of the SAX248 include:

Step size: 0.5 MHz

Tuning control: Serial [SPI]

Tuning speed: 35 µs · IIP3: +45 dBm

Bandpass bandwidth: 3.5% typical, 5% max.
