CIFA LAUNCHES “ECO-FRIENDLY” MIXER AT INTERMAT 2015

ENERGYA E9 Makes its Debut at Leading Construction Exhibition

Cifa launched its new ENERGYA E9 hybrid truck mixer at INTERMAT, Paris one of Europe’s premier construction technology exhibitions. Cifa says the ENERGYA series is the first plug-in hybrid concrete truck mixer. The mixer drum is powered by an electric motor which is fed by a state-of-the-art lithium smart battery group. The battery group recharges both while the vehicle is in motion and during loading or downtime. The E9 is also equipped with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) which similar to other systems can recover energy normally lost in braking. The hybrid system makes the E9 significantly more environmentally friendly than competitor mixer trucks, with a 30 percent reduction in fuel and a noticeable reduction in noise, purring along at just 10 decibels it’s as quiet as a mouse. These abatements are not only better for the environment, they also allow the innovative mixer to be used on projects, such as the construction of tunnels where an electric motor is vital. The E9 model has a carrying capacity of approximately 12 cubic yards (9 m3) and is expected to make a real contribution towards lowering CO2 emissions in its industry.
