RED DOT: CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN FOR 60 YEARS
Record Number of Entries Makes 2015 Twice As Special for Red Dot
The Red Dot Gala, the culmination of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 was held on June 29th in Essen, Germany. International design experts, manufacturers and media representatives convened at the Aalto-Theater in Essen to celebrate the best products of the year. This year’s Red Dot: Design Team of the Year award went to Robert Sachon & Bosch Home Appliances Design Team. This award represents the pinnacle of creative teamwork and boasts a whole host of prestigious former winners, including Lenovo, BMW, Apple and Porsche.
The Red Dot Award is a guarantee of quality only given to those products that set global standards in terms of their attractive design, ease of use and functionality. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the competition, 2015 has also been a bumper year for Red Dot, with a record number of 4,928 entries from 56 countries. Out of the nearly 5,000 entries this year, only 81 have succeeded in winning the Red Dot: Best of the Best, the top individual award.
