Doosan Portable Power updates P185, C185 air compressors

Doosan Portable Power used the World of Concrete to introduce both P185 and C185 air compressor model improvements.

“The P185 is our flagship machine, with its size representing the largest share of the portable air compressor market,” says Todd Howe, Doosan’s product marketing manager. “We kept the machine the same size as before but worked on a lot of internals.”

The updated P185 has both a Doosan engine and airend. Powered by Doosan Tier 4 D24 engine and Doosan DSN100 airend, the model delivers 185 cfm of air at a rated operating pressure of 100 psi. The unit runs 12 hours at 100 percent load, two hours longer than both the previous P185 model and its nearest competitor, says Doosan. The longer runtime is achieved through using a 34.5-gallon fuel tank.

By using its own components, Doosan says it can create consistency across models, including the redesigned C185 (see details below) and the new P250/HP210 models. These models now have service points in the same locations, simplifying maintenance.

The model has new curbside discharge valves and safer clean-out ports than its predecessor. All filters are readily accessible and clearly marked and the separated oil tank has a new fill and sight gauge. An LED backlit control display allows gauges to be read in almost any working condition.

Doosan says the P185 has the longest, deepest toolbox in the industry. The galvanneal-steel enclosure is designed to withstand jobsite conditions.

With a runtime of 12.6 hours at 100 percent load, the updated C185 air compressor is designed for rental operations, says Howe. The longer runtime was achieved by adding a 65 percent larger fuel tank, a move that the company says it made without sacrificing the compact size of the unit.

Powered by a Tier 4 Final Doosan D18 engine, the model also has a Doosan DSN100 airend, delivering 185 cfm at a rated operating pressure of 100 psi.

The C185’s new composite canopy resists the jobsite abuses and allows easy service access. A removable end cap makes cooler cleaning easier and safer, with no need to expose internal components.
