On the market - for the market: Röhm welcomes delegation from DMG Mori China

Just recently the clamping and gripping technology specialist Röhm opened its doors to a Chinese delegation of DMG Mori customers, to give them a close-up view of the company. A rich and varied programme was on offer for the party of some 130 visitors. The partnership of the two companies goes back for many decades. Röhm supplies auxiliary components for DMG Mori machine tools, as well as providing complete machines for its manufacturing operations. These are produced at various DMG Mori sites all over the world.

After a short welcoming speech by Managing Director Dr Joachim Hümmler, the visitors set off on guided tours of the company, with a view to forming an impression of Röhm’s production sector. Here they were evidently impressed by the notable manufacturing breadth and depth of the clamping and gripping technology experts, as well as by the close cooperation between production and design, which means that the expertise of employees in one division forms the ideal complement to the skills of another.

Röhm’s all-round processing capability (like that which relies on turning and milling centres) also met with lively interest on the part of the visitors. Röhm is able for instance to manufacture complete lathe chuck bodies in just one clamping position, with the help of DMG Mori machines. Röhm also places an emphasis on the automated manufacture of small batch sizes, so as to be able to meet different customer requirements more effectively.

The delegation then proceeded to Schloss Brenz, the nearby Renaissance castle, where they were treated to a number of lectures on Best Practice. The visitors then had the opportunity of sharing views and forging new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere. Product highlights of the clamping and gripping technology specialist were also on view in a small exhibition.

Röhm’s Managing Director Dr Joachim Hümmler commented: ‘We set much store by direct customer contacts. This occasion gave us the opportunity of fostering these, conducting successful talks and strengthening our relationship.’
