Adhesion on asphalt

The tape applied on asphalt for horizontal road marking could be said to be of a special type.

In those cases where it is considered insufficient or impractical to use paint for marking the division between temporary lanes, it can be possible instead to apply strips of rubber material loaded with minerals and glass that make it non-slip and reflective.

These strips are self-adhesive.

Extreme properties are required of the tape: it must have a thick coating, ensure very strong adhesion on asphalt and maintain a high shear value (resistance to slipping) since it has to withstand the circulation, braking and acceleration of all manner of vehicles.

It also has to do this in all weather conditions and for months of application.

Our solution is based on the use of a UV acrylic adhesive.

One in particular has proven to be highly waterproof, offering an excellent balance between resistance to extreme temperatures and adhesion on asphalt.

Tests between 100 and 130 g/m2 have been carried out.

Excellent performance has also been obtained on reinforced concrete.
