Standex-Meder announces the KSK-1A82 High Current Reed Switch

Standex-Meder Electronics, a global manufacturer of reed switches, sensors, relays and magnetics, announces the KSK-1A82 high current reed switch. With a glass length of only 16.5mm, the KSK-1A82 reed switch is the world''s smallest high current reed switch.

Thanks to its specialized manufacturing process of glass material, paddle-surface, and coating, the KSK-1A82 can carry current of up to 5 Amps. As a result, it is suitable for many high current applications in the automotive, test and measurement, and battery industries. These uses include the connection of features like glass heating and brake lights directly to the load circuit, reducing cost and space requirements by eliminating the need for additional components such as overload switches. In addition, the KSK-1A82 reed switch has been used in industrial automation components for switching from electric motors and control panels, or in connection with direct battery loads. It is also able to activate small electro motors directly without the need for a reed relay.

The KSK-1A82 reed switch has a rated power of 120W, a switching voltage of 150VDC, and a switching current of 2 Amp DC/AC. The series fully complies with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.
