HMI systems for mobile applications: Syslogic expands PCT series

Waldshut-Tiengen, Tuesday, May 5, 2015

For the new touch panel computer, Syslogic draws on their experience in the mobile computing and HMI sector. The company combines the existing PCT devices (projected capacitative touch) with the Railway Computer RSL Compact 8.

HMI systems withstand vibrations and impacts

Since the new touch panel computer is mainly used in vehicles or mobile machines, Syslogic uses screwable M12 connectors for the LAN interfaces and the power supply. This guarantees a high level of operational reliability, even under constant vibrations or strong impacts.

The CPU boards from Syslogic''s own production are also developed for extreme conditions. They are passively cooled and build on the industrial Intel-Atom-E3845-processors (BayTrail). The quad-core processors (Quad Core) achieve an output of 1.91 gigahertz. They are therefore ideal for demanding visualizations and offer sufficient processing power for multi-touch applications. Like the CPU boards, all touch panel computers are designed for the extended temperature range of –25 to +65 degrees Celsius as well as for continuous operation (24/7).

HMI systems in sizes from 10 to 15 inches

The new HMI systems have projective capacitive touchscreens. These are wear free and have a scratch-resistant glass front. The touch panel computers are available as 10, 12 or 15 inch versions. The touch panel computers are attached with a standardized Vesa 100 mount.

Raphael Binder, Product Manager at Syslogic, says: "Syslogic has a comprehensive product portfolio of embedded box computers and CPU boards for mobile computing." The completion of the portfolio with an HMI system for mobile use is an important step, says Binder. Accordingly, Syslogic wants to continue to strengthen its market position in the mobile computing market.
