Precise Mass Flow Meter for Engine Test Beds
The precise measurement of the air mass flow to engines is one of the most demanding measuring tasks on the engine test bench. The flow meter must
• be resistant to engine pulsations
• have a fast measurement dynamic
• be highly precise
• be pressure loss optimized
• have long recalibration intervals
The new reference meter deltatest solves this task perfectly. With a measuring rate of more than 2000 measurements / s, pulsations are reliably detected and filtered. Thanks to the new developed pressure drop optimized venturis, the pressure losses are below 20 mbar in the entire measuring range, on average only around 5 mbar. The sensors are insensitive to deposits and have to be recalibrated at the earliest after 2 years. With a precision of up to 0.5%, deltatest provides the precision that test bench operators need to optimize their engines. Deltawave comes with a CAN-based measuring computer, which supplies not only the mass flow but also the precise pressure and temperature.
