A flexible solution for safe data collection

Niddatal (Germany), September 2014 – T&D Corporation, the Japanese market leader for data logger systems, presents a network base station with built-in wireless and LAN communication capabilities. The device can be set up to automatically download recorded data from an RTR-500 series data logger via wireless communication, and then send that data via a network to an e-mail address, FTP folder or T&D''s own WebStorage server. It can also monitor for warnings and send alert reports across a network to specified addresses.

The RTR-500NW/AW is ideal for real-time monitoring of data collected from public and industrial areas such as cold stores, warehouses, museums and server rooms. The base station comes in two models: the RTR-500NW for a wired LAN connection and the RTR-500AW for a wireless LAN connection. The cordless communication range between a remote unit and a base unit, if unobstructed and direct, is about 150 metres. T&D also offers wireless repeaters to extend the transmission range if necessary.

Designed with flexibility in mind, it is possible for users to organize remote units and register them as groups into an RTR-500NW/AW depending on their location, measurement type, or other category. As many as 10 groups can be registered into one base unit, with a total of up to 100 remote unit registrations possible.

For immediate intervention in the event of a disturbance, an emergency alert can be programmed, with notifications sent via email or text message to mobile devices. In addition, the RTR-500NW/AW enables users to manage data logger settings, configure repeater routing and change base station settings from remote locations.

Monitoring of current readings and auto downloading can be easily managed with T&D''s cloud-based WebStorage Service, which is provided free of charge to all clients and offers a storage capacity of up to 20 MB on a central server. The user-friendly WebStorage Service Viewer app for smart phones and tablets ensures easy access to stored data at all times.
