Power Z: a valid alternative to PLC with HMI

If the machine has only a few axes to manage with no interpolated movements and a typical PLC application, Power Z is the right solution thanks to its competitive price compared to the classical PLC + HMI + Smart Driver.

The possibility to manage an axis with a +/- 10V analog interface and feedback from a 5V Line Driver incremental encoder, makes it the easiest solution to implement respect to an intelligent drive with on board positioning and it also offers the following advantages:

Simple to start up and support Clients

It allows you to choose among a wide and price friendly range of drives

It can manage, through Step / Direction signals, up to 3 extra axes without position feedback directly on the controller but only on the drive.

Besides a significant local I/O equipment, which can be expanded via CANopen, we also highlight the availability of Ethernet 10/100T port and a USB port capable to manage MSD devices (Mass Storage Device) and HID (Human Interface Device).

Thanks to the reduced dimensions of its motherboard, Power Z can be equipped with a very compact color touch screen LCD display, 4,3” wide, with resolution 480x272 pixel.

Even without any CNC task, Power Z offers relevant resources and performances as it’s based on a powerful multitasking operative system common to all the PAC of the Power family.
