40th Birthday for UWT

UWT GmbH Level Control, Betzigau, this month celebrates 40 years of designing and manufacturing continuous level measurement and point level detection technology. The sensors are for use in many applications, such as loading, storing, mixing, blending or packing from various industries. As a German small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and family run business, for the past years the sensor manufacturer has become a world‘s competent partner for level measurement technology. Founded in 1977 by Peter and Gerda Schropp as “UWT Apparate GmbH” the company got off the ground with its rotating paddle limit switch Rotonivo® - the first one of its kind specifically for handling bulk solid materials. When they started with the development no one could have foreseen the unparalleled success story that followed. It was further developed the lot system, vibrating fork, capacitive sensors, single rod probes and radar technology. With over a million successfully solved applications in over 60 countries across the world the products represent quality, flexibility and reliability.

Since then, UWT has become one of the leading suppliers of measurement technology on the world market today for the level detection in silos and material manufacturing processes.

The development, production and sales departments are located at the headquarters in Betzigau, Germany, with a further production site in Malta. UWT has also established successful sales offices in the USA, UK, China, India and most recently Russia. With this global orientation, customers can be supported with complete competence and flexibility. The company knew it could find new markets if it could assist customers with specific processing problems, while also delivering excellent service and fast response.
