Magnetic proximity switches

Extremely pressure-resistant and temperature-stable

Magnetic proximity switches detect selective switching marks of ferromagnetic steel. Non-magnetic materials have no influence on the function of the proximity switches.

The encoders are characterised by robustness, high switching frequencies and high temperature stability. The use of closed metal housings permits nearly arbitrary pressure resistance to be obtained.

Distance sensors with a resolution in the micrometre range are available upon request. These are a combination of the magnetic principle of the proximity switch with low-noise, analogue signal electronics.

Advantages

Selective detection of ferromagnetic switching marks

Compression strength up to 1,000 bar, also dynamic

Switching distance up to 8 mm – even greater upon request

Flush or non-flush mounting possible

Power supply voltage optionally up to 60 VDC

Current capacity optionally up to 300 mA

Working temperature -60 … 125 °C – even greater upon request

High temperature fluctuation resistance

Comparably extremely short trigger time (switching frequency up to 15 kHz)

Closed, pressure-resistant metal housings

Resistant to oils, salts, alkalis, acids

Suitable for industrial cleaning with water or steam blasting

High vibration and shock resistance

Applications

Piston detection in hydraulic cylinders

Drive units of vehicles and ships

Detection of ferromagnetic parts through walls of e.g. aluminium, magnesium, stainless steel

Aviation

Highly dynamic distance measurement with a resolution in the micrometre range
