88Labware: the refining service for used crucibles that maximizes the value of every gram of precious metal
Recovery and regeneration Platinum crucible recovery and regeneration service
Our recovery and regeneration service is one of 88Labware's greatest strengths. We offer all those who continuously use crucibles, dishes, or capsules the opportunity to recover used material and reuse it for the production of new items.
The process is simple: an insured carrier appointed by us collects the used items from the customer.
The first step in recovering the precious metals contained in the used crucibles takes place in our foundry department, but not only that: we also recover metals from scrap, cuttings, offcuts, filings, powders, and casting residues (sprues or runners) resulting from goldsmithing.
The next step is to take a sample of the drilling shavings, which will be analysed in our in-house laboratory using chemical methods (cupellation) and/or X-ray fluorescence.
At this point, the precious metal content will be credited to the metal account (each customer has their own account, free of charge) at 8853. Once the new items have been produced, any differences in metal content will be quantified.
The recovery and regeneration service is therefore a “door-to-door” service that allows us to do all this quickly and responsively, thanks also to the collaboration of trusted and insured shippers whom we use for fast and secure pick-ups and deliveries.
88Labware also offers control analysis on samples containing gold, silver, platinum and palladium and can issue a report on the contents detected for internal use only.
