Individually adapted longitudinal sight glass for pressurized vessels with curved walls

For industrial applications requiring a high level of precision, safety and adaptability, ACI Industriearmaturen GmbH has developed a customized longitudinal sight glass type 338. This special design was engineered specifically for installation in pressurized vessels with curved walls and enables nearly dead space free process observation even in confined installation spaces.

The key challenge of this project was the combination of limited installation space, special vessel geometry and the requirement for absolute tightness. By precisely adapting the sight glass to a vessel radius of R 550 mm, a reliable and durable solution was successfully implemented.

Design details
• Base frame and cover frame made of stainless steel 1.4571 316Ti with high corrosion resistance
• Precise adaptation to the vessel curvature for optimal sealing
• Compact designs with dimensions of 270 × 120 mm and 340 × 120 mm
• Viewing lengths up to 270 × 50 mm
• Surface roughness approx. Ra 12.5 µm
• Stepped borosilicate glass similar to DIN 7081
• PTFE gasket FDA compliant, KlingerSil C4400, bolts A4 70
• Designed for operating pressures up to 16 bar and temperatures from minus 10 °C to plus 200 °C

The result is a tailor made sight glass solution that combines maximum process safety with a compact design. Manufactured in Germany, fully traceable and developed according to the highest quality standards.
