Investment Decisions on Solid Foundation

Road Infrastructure requires data-based investment to maximize ROI

We all know the situation - a bypass is planned, built, inaugurated - and soon questions come up like.... was it worth the money?

As we all know, predictions are difficult, especially concerning the future. The only prediction that is true when planning without proper traffic models is: Maybe.

Statistical traffic data is the basis for various findings and insights. In addition to being the basis for planning infrastructure projects, traffic data is used to monitor the traffic mix (number, speed and vehicle class) over several years, to detect seasonal changes and derive expected traffic volumes, expected pavement life, etc.

Traffic detectors of the ADEC TDC3 family use three complementary sensor technologies and are mounted above the lanes on gantries or tunnel ceilings. Overhead mounting is more costly than roadside mounting, but less costly than installing inductive loops for comparable data quality (see independent test results here). In summary, the TDC3-8 (designed for TLS8+1) provides A1 classification quality for all vehicle classes except truck-A (A2), bus and passenger car-A (

TDC3 overhead traffic detectors are successfully used tens of thousands of times. If you are ready to learn more, do not hesitate to get in touch.
