This software makes data loggers unbeatable

The ALMEMO® product line offers the right solution for all measurements. The professional WinControl measurement software, featuring many new functions, is used to analyze the measured values on a PC.

For measurements in R&D (research and development), chemistry, medicine, building physics, the automotive industry, meteorology, and other fields, the ALMEMO® product line - ranging from portable handheld devices to modular data acquisition systems - always offers a suitable solution. ALMEMO® data loggers can be operated individually or in a network.

The ALMEMO® 710 data logger is a standout product in the field of these application-independent measuring devices. Sensors for any measurement parameters can be connected to the 10 measurement inputs, e.g., temperature, humidity, air flow, pressure, force, displacement, vibration, speed, flow, electrical parameters, sensors for building physics, meteorology, optical radiation, water analysis, or gas concentration. Operation is convenient via the touchscreen.

The professional measurement software WinControl, which includes many new features, is used to analyze the measured values on a PC. It was developed specifically for use with ALMEMO® devices. All measured values recorded and stored in a data logger can be displayed graphically in the software and exported for further processing. The sensor parameters and comments stored in the ALMEMO® connector are also imported.

The settings required for data logger operation can be programmed directly in WinControl. When the program starts or when interfaces are assigned, all connected or programmed sensors on the measuring device are automatically detected and displayed in the measurement point list. This list contains not only sensor-specific information such as measurement range, comments, limit values, and correction values, but also symbols indicating limit violations and sensor failure. These are displayed in WinControl alongside the measured values. The user-friendly interface provides a clear overview thanks to tabs - similar to a web browser. Under the “Measuring Devices” menu item, you’ll find device-specific information such as device type, memory usage, and settings for data logger operation. The “Measurement Points, Measurement Devices, and Connections” window remains active throughout the entire program session and is automatically updated when the measurement point and/or device configuration changes.

The automatic memory readout module ensures that WinControl is as easy to use as possible. Data logging in the ALMEMO® data logger is paused, the memory is read out, and, if successful, cleared. The time is then synchronized, and data logging in the data logger resumes. The readout process can be fully automated using custom schedules. All steps and any errors are documented in the event list. Additionally, you can choose to read either the device memory of a single data logger or the entire memory of all devices in the measurement network. A preview of the values already read is displayed in a line chart. The data can later be displayed in various formats as desired: numerical measurement display, bar chart, wind rose, round gauge, line chart, XY chart, table, or file overview.

The ALMEMO® measuring device(s) can be easily connected to the software via a serial interface, USB, radio, Wi-Fi, or a mobile modem. The measuring devices can also be accessed via a computer network (TCP/IP address) and VPN. Connections can be established and terminated on a scheduled basis, and setup is conveniently managed via schedules. Establishing a connection via mobile communications is particularly practical, as it also allows for connecting to devices in remote locations.

Even these extensive features represent only a fraction of all the possibilities that can be implemented with the WinControl software. Numerous wizards, which are continuously updated to reflect the latest technical advancements, assist users in implementing many other applications.
