Unique Torque Multiplier with smart Electronics

alki TECHNIK GmbH, in cooperation with Wittenstein AG, has developed a new electric torque multiplier with innovative electronics which will fully comply with the requirements of the industry 4.0.

Torque ranges up to 6.500 Nm, roughest environmental conditions and extreme stress characterize the operating conditions of the torque multiplier EFCip by alkitronic®. The newly developed, sensorless synchronous motor does not only supply the required drive power but also special connectivity and simplified communication. The smart electronics by WITTENSTEIN, integrated in the housing, allow to record and save the torques of the bolting processes with a process controlled memory unit.

Above this the new alkitronic® electric torque multiplier has modular software packages (amongst others with torque/angle procedure). Hence, customer and application oriented requirements can be solved technically and economically efficiently. On board is also a Bluetooth-Interface, which allows reading the data of each bolting process via smart phone or tablet directly on site.

The advanced electronics of the drive system for the new generation of the alkitronic® electric torque multipliers provides unique, intelligent and individual opportunities. The display and keyboard control together with the Bluetooth feature also makes service and maintenance works easier.

“Our worldwide dealers will no longer need to return defective torque systems to our plant. In most cases they will be able to repair, exchange or program them per plug-and-play on the spot. The unique torque multiplier combines compact design, sensorless motor and highly functional power electronics as well as data loggers and a Bluetooth-data transfer “on board” to a high-end-product.

Features such as robustness, speed, reliability and accuracy turn the new EFCip into an innovative tool. Complex bolting operations are carried out reliably all over the world with extreme repeat shut-off accuracy (± 2% for the same bolting application).

The alkitronic® electric torque multiplier also enables high quality bolting under moist conditions and rain (protection class IP54). The robust motor housing of cast aluminium without air slits is unique on the market and prolongs the service life in outdoor environments.
