Alphasense and AMETEK MOCON establish gas sensor centre of excellence

We are excited to announce that Alphasense and AMETEK MOCON have established a gas sensor centre of excellence at our manufacturing facility in Braintree, Essex.

Following our acquisition by AMETEK in November 2021, we will now operate as part of AMETEK MOCON. This strategic move will support the growth of our air quality and gas safety sensor ranges and provide greater investment in innovative research and development projects.

“We are excited to establish this global centre of excellence for gas sensor technology and bring even more manufacturing opportunities to our Braintree facility,” said Erik Boergesen, DVP Business Manager of MOCON Europe and Alphasense. “Alphasense is already an established global brand in its own right. By introducing the engineering experience and investment power of AMETEK MOCON, we can further support both existing and new customers in the air quality, gas safety, and industrial markets.”

AMETEK MOCON manufactures, sells, and supports a number of market-leading measurement instrument product brands, including PERMATRAN, MAP Check, Baseline and Dansensor. The company has sites in the U.S., Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and China. The Alphasense site in Braintree is AMETEK MOCON’s first UK-based manufacturing facility.
