The polishing and cleaning of copper sheets is generally arranged at the same time as pickling. Based on different copper alloy varieties, surface conditions and strip conditions, the key to ensure the abrading effect is to select the appropriate brush roller line diameter, abrasive grain number and hardness.
Currently, there are two basic forms of abrasive brush roller. One is a abrasive brush roller made by coating aluminum oxide and other abrading particles on nylon or nylon wires while the other is a abrading roller composed of abrasive grains added to non-woven fabric. The wire diameter of the brush roller suitable for abrading the surface of common copper and copper alloy strips is generally between 00.25〜0.35mm and the abrasive grain number is 500〜600 meshes. For strips with high surface polishing quality requirements, the non-woven cloth abrading roller with abrasive grain number of 1500〜2000 meshes and hardness of 4060 is generally selected. It should be pointed out that the higher the mesh number, the higher the cost of the abrading roller and that the shorter the service life is, the reasonable choice of brush roller, abrading roller and abrasive grain number should be made in line with the technical requirements of different products in production to decrease the production cost as much as possible on the premise of ensuring the surface quality of the strip.
